Thank You, Mrs.
Marlette for sponsoring The Mother's Day tournament at The Buffalo
Seminary. It's no surprise that mothers are always that special person in our
lives, and we like to honor Mom's as often as we can. The chess mother's in
this tournament were the reason for its success; starting with Mrs. Munson,
Mrs. Paradis, Mrs. Peruzzini, all the way thru to Mrs. Bowers, we thank you for
all the support you give to our small but ever growing chess community.
Now let's talk about some chess winners of this little but
great tournament.
In the Unrated section we had a new comer who came to play
and win: Avijeet Mishra.
The Unrated runner up saw Caroline Finkbeiner finally get her game on, in her soon to be
future High School.
In third place Adam Peruzzini worked his own little
magic in the unrated section.
The Open section had Mr.
Hennessey in first place, followed by Mr.
Cirillo and Mr. Barleben.
The most exciting section was definitely the Under 1200
section where there was a battle royal between the up and coming Bishop Timon
St. JudeTimon chess boys and the Buffalo
Seminary girls.
The new Chess Club student president from "Sem",
Mikang Kim saw herself fighting for her spotlight against Cullen Tonge and then
Moses Edwards. The games were challenging for both sides but in the end in a
Mother's Day tournament the young lady prevailed.
Winner Mikang Kim…Runner
up Cullen Tonge…third place Andrew Dziadzio.
