RESULTS ....3rd Annual "Blizzard Challenge".......RESULTS....

Thank you Sonwil Distribution for sponsoring such a fantastic chess tournament.  The 3rd Annual "Blizzard Challenge" attracted 50 enthusiastic scholastic chess players from as far as Syracuse, New York. The tournament brought new and exciting challenges to some and upsets to others, but most importantly it proves that the royal game of chess is definitely enjoyed in our neck of the woods.

The tournament was formatted into four sections according to grade and USCF ratings. They played four rounds at G/45 and the results were as follows.

Individual results:

K-6 U1000  Winner was Mattew Harvey. 2nd Jayla Collins. 3rd Caleb Kinmartin.
K-6  Winner was Jade Regner. 2nd Roman Castle. 3rd Ethen Warner.
K-12 U1000 Winner was Douglas Ward. 2nd Justin Regner. 3rd Austen Harris.
K-12 Winner was Ryan Madden. 2nd Chris Darling. 3rd Tim Keane.
Blitz Winner was Ryan Madden. 2nd Chris Darling. 3rd Thomas Warner.

Team results:

Results from the last 2 tournaments in WNY...Happy Holidays...

Better late than never....Well here are the results from the last two tournaments of 2013.

First Western New York's Scholastic Championships in Sardinia. This tournament gathered 81 players from all over, and the results were as follows.

Individual Winners were: 

K-4 section Champion: ARJUN PATEL

K-8 Section Champion: WENDELL LAMBERT

K-12 Section Champion: LEV PACIORKOWSKI

UNRATED Section Champion: MADDIE GREEN

 

Team Winners were:

K-4 section Champion: Global Concepts Charter School

K-8 Section Champion: Pioneer Central Schools

            K-12 Section Champion: WNY Homeschoolers

In the 2013 Holiday Tournament which took place at Global Concepts in Lackawanna the winners were:

RESULTS....2013 FALL CHESS FESTIVAL...

Wow!!! What a great turnout. First a huge Thanks to Mrs. Marlette for allowing us to use Buffalo Seminary for our Fall Fest Tournament.

 Tom Warner and Doug Bower Thank You both for bringing up the boys from Pioneer and Bishop Timon.

QueensKnight Chess Club brought together 29 chess players to compete in our 8th Fall Chess Festival.  We had three rated sections; The Open, U1200, and U800.

Winners in the each section were as follows:

The Open:

1.     RYAN MADDEN (PIONEER), 4pts.

2.     STEPHEN HEDGES (BISHOP TIMON), 3pts.

3.     ALBERT PATTERSON, 3pts.

The U1200:

1.     ZACHARY J. BODACK (BISHOP TIMON), 4pts.

2.     NATHAN PALMISANO (PIONEER), 2.5pts.

3.     THOMAS R. BLUM (QUEENSKNIGHT), 2pts.

The U800: 

All players were tied with 3 wins each but the tie breaker went as

follows:

1.     WILLIAM O'CONNOR (BISHOP TIMON), 3pts.

2.     ENYA CIRILLO (BUFFALO SEMINARY), 3pts.

3.     DANIELLE LITTLE (BUFFALO SEMINARY), 3pts.

2013 Mothers Day Tournament RESULTS

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful chess mom's. This 2013 tournament marked our 5th Mothers Day tournament since the birth of this chess club. I can't think of a better name for an affiliate that remembers, and honors the mothers of young chess players than "QueensKnight".  Hope that images can tell a story, louder than words...
